CARLY RAE JEPSEN releases debut album “KISS”

This year’s breakout pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen releases her eagerly anticipated U.S. debut album, entitled, KISS. The Canadian singer and songwriter wrote and co-wrote songs on the album, collaborating with songwriters and producers Max Martin, Dallas Austin, LMFAO’s Redfoo, Toby Gad, Marianas Trench singer Josh Ramsay and Matthew Koma.  Jepsen’s latest single “Good Time,” a duet with Owl City, has climbed to No. 3 on the Pop Chart, No. 5 on the iTunes Singles chart, and No. 13 on Billboard’s Hot 100, while the video, featuring Jepsen and Young, has racked up more than six million views on VEVO.

"These are lyric and song ideas that I have been collecting over the years,” Jepsen says of Kiss. “I can't tell you how lucky I feel to be able to collaborate with some of my dream producers. It has been the most fulfilling experience. The record is pop. It’s inspired by Robyn, The Cars, Madonna, and believe it or not, James Taylor. I can't wait to share it with everyone! Kiss."

Jepsen has been riding high with the success of her smash single “Call Me Maybe,” which has sold more than 7.3 million singles worldwide and has spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 so far, tying Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” for most weeks atop the chart this year. Certified quintuple-platinum in Jepsen’s native Canada (where it also hit No. 1), the track is an international sensation, climbing to No. 1 in the iTunes Singles charts in over 37 countries including the U.S. U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Norway and more.  It also earned her a 2012 MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best New Artist.

Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen Teams Up For 'Good Time'

It’s always a ‘GOOD TIME’ with
Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen!

American pop-electro artist OWL CITY and “Call Me Maybe” internet sensation CARLY RAE JEPSEN vow to create a unique smash hit as they team up together for the teenybopper summer anthem, “Good Time”. The duet is the third single that Owl City has released in less than two months, following "Shooting Star" and "Dementia", both lifted from his Shooting Star EP. According to Billboard.com, Owl City (Adam Young) worked with pop producers Emily Wright and frequent Rihanna collaborator Stargate for his upcoming album entitled “The Midsummer Station”. He is joined by Jepsen, the voice behind the undeniably catchy "Call Me Maybe," for the album's infectious first single, a track that could possibly be the next viral tune on the worldwide web.

The promising new single, which was just released to digital retailers last June 26, has already generated positive reviews:

"This is the PERFECT follow up tune to the catchiest song EVER, Call Me Maybe. Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen have meshed their musical talents, delivering a super summer SMASH of a jam in the form of Good Time!""This is the PERFECT follow up tune to the catchiest song EVER, Call Me Maybe...American pop-electro artist Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen have meshed their musical talents, delivering a super summer SMASH of a jam in the form of Good Time!"

"We never woulda guessed that Carly Rae Jepsen's first single after her Internet anthem, "Call Me Maybe" would be a duet with Owl City. But get ready, because it's happening and it's actually pretty legit. If you recall, Adam Young (aka Owl City) took the world by storm with his song "Fireflies," and his collaboration with Carly is probably about to do the same thing."

"With the production-friendly voices of Owl City and Jepsen, the instantly hooky chorus, and the “Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh” refrain, “Good Time” goes down easier than a frozen margarita at a beachfront tiki bar." ~ www.music-mix.ew.com

"Considering that Carly is the It Pop Star of the summer with her infectious #1 single “Call Me Maybe”, we wouldn’t be surprised if “Good Time” was all over the radio for the rest of the season."

CARLY RAE JEPSEN’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ is the BIGGEST HIT of 2012!

President Barrack Obama, Manny Pacquiao, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Solenn Heusaff, Raymond Gutierrez and the UAAP Season 75 -- What do they possibly all have in common? -- A music video dancing and/or lip synching to Carly Rae Jepsen’s highly infectious tune, “Call Me Maybe”. If you haven’t heard this song yet then perhaps you’ve been living under a rock!

Canadian singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen rose to fame with her single, “Call Me Maybe”, claiming the No. 1 spot in the Digital Chart -- the first song by a Canadian artist to reach the top of the digital chart since Justin Bieber's “Baby” in January 2010. It also recently hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. “Call Me Maybe” has sold over 3.2 million singles and spent four consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Digital Songs chart. Certified quintuple-platinum in Jepsen’s native Canada (where it hit No. 1), the track is also an international sensation, climbing to No. 1 in the iTunes Singles charts in the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Norway and more. Moreover, it has also dominated Philippine charts, reaching No. 1 in local radio stations such as Magic 89.9, Love Radio 90.7, Big 91.5, RX 93.1, 93.9 i-FM, Mellow 94.7, 95.5 Pinas FM, 97.1, LS FM, 97.9 Home, 99.5 RT, 101.1 Yes FM, Tambayan 101.9, 102.7 Star, Wow 103.5, Energy 106.7 and Win 107.5 among others.

The irresistibly catchy song’s ascent is fueled in part by its videos. The official video has racked up more than 105 million views on VEVO, while an unofficial clip — which Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and other young stars filmed of themselves lip-synching and dancing to the song and posted on Big Time Rush actor and singer Carlos Pena’s YouTube Channel. It has attracted more than 42 million views and has inspired other stars get in on the action. Katy Perry, actor James Franco, the Harvard Baseball team, SMU Women’s Rowing team and more have all posted their own versions of “Call Me Maybe.” Joining in the fun is a parody of US President Barrack Obama’s speech which was cleverly edited to look as though he’s singing the song. At the same time, the video gimmick was picked up locally when Manila’s ‘IT Girl’ Solenn Heusaff also lip dubbed the song with friends Raymond Gutierrez, Liz Uy and Anne Curtis among others, making the video go viral online.

Carly Rae Jepsen may seem like a newcomer in the music biz but she has already scored two previous gold singles and received numerous awards, including 2010 Juno Award nominations for “Songwriter of the Year” and “Best New Artist” as well as a 2010 MuchMusic Video Award nomination for “UR Fave New Artist.” She has sold more than 400,000 singles in her home country. She is set to release her debut album this September. With all these accolades, indeed, “Call Me Maybe” deserves to be hailed as the BIGGEST HIT of 2012.

Carly Rae Jepsen’s debut album will soon be available in CDs exclusively under MCA Music. Her mega hit single “Call Me Maybe” may already be downloaded at www.MyMusicStore.com.ph
