"Popular Song" by Mika feat. Ariana Grande

MIKA has debuted his new single “Popular Song”, featuring Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande on iTunes and other digital retailers. The song offers a fresh twist on "Popular" from the Broadway hit "Wicked", composed by Stephen Schwartz. In an historic move, Schwartz was so moved by this interpretation that he authorized the usage of his music for the first time ever.

"Popular Song" remains an inspiring and invigorating pop anthem that encourages the bullied and unpopular to rise above. MIKA tapped the charismatic and charming actress/singer Ariana Grande for the song, which showcases a powerful interplay between the two singers. Grande’s successful co-starring role on the hit show, Victorious, recently led to her own spin-off for Nickelodeon, Sam & Cat. Grande’s presence extends far beyond her television notoriety. She’s also a highly talented and accredited singer, who’s debut album—due out 2013 via Republic Records—  has her poised to become a major player in popular music.

The single arrives hot on the heels of Mika's recent sold-out U.S. tour in support of his new album, The Origin of Love, which followed up the multi-platinum worldwide smash, The Boy Who Knew Too Much.

Completely self-created and self-imagined, The Origin of Love has been a two-year DIY labour of love for Mika who has put together everything on the record himself, flying around the world under his own steam personally assembling an incredible roll call of collaborators – In addition to Nick Littlemore and Pharrell Williams, Mika has also worked with William Orbit, Benny Benassi, FrYars, Greg Wells (Katy Perry, Adele), and Klas Ahlund (Robyn’s Body Talk) as well as working with some brand new unsigned musicians he found himself online.

Mika has now sold over 8 million records and Gold or Platinum awards in 32 countries worldwide across his previous two albums ‘Life in Cartoon Motion’ and ‘The Boy Who Knew Too Much’, winning Brit and MTV Awards in the process.

DIA FRAMPTON to perform ‘live’ at the Hard Rock Café this January 5!

Fans will definitely be thrilled and overwhelmed as The Voice Season 1 finalist, DIA FRAMPTON is bound to invade the entire metro for a concert and series of TV and radio guestings.

Catch the rising American singer-songwriter, DIA FRAMPTON Live in Manila this Saturday, January 5, 9PM at the Hard Rock Café, Makati.

Dia Frampton began with a dream: the dream to make music - music that touches the heart and mind.  Music that is inspirational and intimate for everyone. This dream led her to start a band with her sister Meg; collectively they called themselves Meg & Dia. Their band toured worldwide with some of the most respected bands in Rock, and unexpectedly led to the first season of NBC's hit television series, The Voice.

As Meg & Dia, Dia and her band released albums on various labels, most notably their 2009 release, "Here, Here and Here" through Warner Brothers Records.  Soon after the release, the band parted ways with Warner to work independently on new music. The result, "Cocoon," is a record filled with heart and soul, self-released and recorded in the Frampton kitchen.

Wanting to support her band and promote "Cocoon" fueled her impromptu decision to audition for NBC's The Voice.  Unknowingly, she quickly became a fan favorite. "I was surprised at how far I went," reveals Dia. "The Voice has pushed everything into a whole new realm."

On The Voice, millions of viewers fell in love with Dia's mesmerizing vocals, unique interpretations of popular songs, and inimitable style.  Her performances of Kanye West's "Heartless" and R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion" as well as the original track, "Inventing Shadows" caught fire online. They proved to be the highest-charting iTunes digital songs from any contestant on The Voice. "Inventing Shadows" even reached #1 on iTunes as well as #20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Cumulatively, her solo digital releases exceed 500,000 downloads.

Upon finishing the show, Universal Republic Records signed Dia, and she immediately began working on her solo debut - due in stores December 6, 2011.  The album's first single, "The Broken Ones" takes flight on the strength of her powerful vocals and heartfelt songwriting. However, it's only a prelude of what lies in store on the record.

Preserving her indie roots, she's telling honest stories via every new song that she writes, while channeling an undeniable, upbeat vibe. As a result of that process, she makes inspirational, intimate,
and infectious music that draws from indie, pop, and rock influenced by everyone from Tom Petty and Joni Mitchell to The Avett Brothers and Mumford and Sons.

Dia declares, "I want to bring it back to the classic singer-songwriter style. It can be magical without all of the bells and whistles".

Dia Frampton’s “Red” debut studio album is now out in CDs at leading record stores under MCA Music.  It is also available online via iTunes and To get Dia’s first single, “The Broken Ones” as your mobile ringback tone, FREE/5days for Smart and Globe, and for only P5/5days for Sun Cellular subscribers: Text BROKEN1S to 2728 (SMART); KB790 to 2332 (GLOBE) and 5493753 to 2300 (SUN).
