The First Manila Music Festival

We Filipinos are passionate. Most of this passion are expressed best in music. We express our passions in singing in courtships like harana from our old traditions and worship especially during Holy Week. Music also helps promote when there's a commercial jingle and a movie needs a good soundtrack that will help people remember it.

Music is part of everyone's culture. It is a universal language of every human being. This is why even in the metropolitan city like Manila, it is still relevant. Whatever genre of music it is, the Filipinos are the most appreciative fans of music in general.  the best reason to start our very own music festival.

Volume Unit Entertainment is organizing the very first Manila Music Festival. It will be held at Alphaland Bay City at Aseana Avenue near Mall of Asia on May 1, 2012 which happens to be our Labor Day. The gates will open at 1:00 in the afternoon and it will go all night so it is best to claim a spot where you can be comfortable

The festival will feature local talents as well as international which ncludes Razorback, Kjwan,Wilabaliw,  Sino Sikat, Lady I and June Marieezy. Among the international names who will be here are Shinichi Osawa (Mondo Grosso;Japan), and some of the biggest names in hip hop like Ali Sasheed of A Tribe Called Quest (New York City), "Amen Ra of the Universal Hip Hop Culture", Afrika Bambaataa (Zulu Nation; New York City) which is considered the father of hip hop that all hip hop artists look up to. This will be a start of showcasing talents

The festival venue is an open area about 250 meter by 150 meter facing the Manila Bay. Be part of history as we make our own version of Woodstock or Live Aid. Tickets are available at Ticketworld for 1,500 pesos and at the event for 2,000 pesos. I assure you it will make your money's worth.  The event is only for 18 years old and above so it is advise to bring proper identification for security reasons. For details, check out the Manila Music Festival website . The site also offers ideas how to enjoy the event and what to bring. VUE was responsible to have a Music and Arts Festival at Mt. Malasimbo in Puerto Galera last March 2 to 4.
