that Reach beyond the Realm of Lullabies
“Hushabye” dedicated to the Royal Couple’s
soon-to-be born Baby of Cambridge
MCA Music Release
June 26, 2013 --- The Baby of Cambridge may not be born yet, but he or she has already received his or her first musical dedication – a lullaby. The biggest selling classical artist of the 21st century Hayley Westenra has teamed up with royal wedding composer Paul Mealor for an album of lullabies dedicated to Prince William’s and Kate Middleton’s royal tot.
“Hushabye”, released under MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines), comprises a careful selection of music that will calm and soothe both children and adults alike. Her voice compliments the considered orchestration, with acoustic guitar, piano, flute and warm strings, creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. This album includes bedtime favourites such as Hushabye Mountain and Twinkle Twinkle, alongside timeless classics that reach beyond the realm of lullabies, like Dream A Little Dream of Me and All Through the Night. The track Sleep On was specially written by Paul Mealor and world renowned composer Brendan Graham (lyricist for ‘You Raise Me Up’). Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge personally chose Mealor’s music for their wedding back in 2011.
Hayley Westenra has sold over four million albums in her career and holds the accolade of the biggest selling classical album of the 21st century. She is also an advocate for the youth. As one of the youngest ever ambassadors for UNICEF, she raises awareness of the desperate situations faced by innumerable children around the world. She has supported several educational projects, such as providing bikes for children in Ghana, enabling them to attend school and find a better future.
