The Art of BURT BACHARACH

I first heard about Burt Bacharach when he made onscreen performance at Austin Powers movies. Since then, he was one of my favorite oldie singers. Here's an article/release material from MCA about Mr. Bacharach.

The Legendary Composer & Songwriter
Celebrates his 85th Birthday with the release of
“Anyone Who Had a Heart: The Art of the Songwriter”

This year, legendary composer and songwriter Burt Bacharach celebrates his 85th birthday with the release of a “Anyone Who Had A Heart: The Art of the Songwriter” --- a 40-track, 2-CD set with various artists performing his memorable writing collaborations. The complete collection is also available on iTunes --- http://smarturl.it/artofthesongwriterph.

Dating from his first pop hit on the charts and especially his work with longtime writing partner and lyricist Hal David, who helped the duo create an amazing streak of classics, to those songs of recent years when Bacharach ventured out on his own to write with Carole Bayer Sager and Elvis Costello among others, the collection celebrates the work of Bacharach and how the combined efforts of talented songwriters, majestic melodies, unforgettable lyrics and great vocalists can yield timeless pop classics and be interpreted in unique ways.

Along with Lennon and McCartney, Burt Bacharach is one of the most celebrated and legendary song-writers of the twentieth century. His work is recognized around the globe and the respect he has from his peers and fans alike has made him a true living legend.
